Tarmac.IO, a leading custom software development firm, today announced the acquisition of Warecorp, a Minneapolis-based software engineering company, creating a global technology services platform with nearly 370 engineers across the Americas and Europe. The acquisition strengthens both companies' position as trusted technology partners for Fortune 500 companies and innovative startups, with combined customer base spanning healthcare, retail, education, and emerging AI technologies.

Founded in 2011 and 2004, respectively, both companies have established deep roots in Minnesota’s technology ecosystem while building global delivery capabilities. The combined entity leverages strategic partnerships with industry leaders, including AWS, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Databricks, to deliver cutting-edge solutions in data infrastructure, AI integration, and custom software development.

"This acquisition is a welcomed evolution of two companies that have been quietly powering Minnesota's tech ecosystem for over two decades," said Anthony Schmidt, founder and CEO of Tarmac. "We've worked alongside each other, often serving the same customers, and recognized that combining our strengths provides more powerful capabilities for our clients than we could achieve alone."  - Anthony Schmidt, founder and CEO of Tarmac.IO

“Tarmac has some key partnerships, notably with Databricks, a data analytics platform that’s emerging as the leader in that field, and AWS.  Warecorp has our AI and data-science solutions advisory relationships with Nvidia and Microsoft. Together, we cover the gamut.” - Chris Dykstra, CEO of Warecorp

The acquisition comes at a pivotal moment in the technology services industry, as companies increasingly seek partners capable of navigating complex data infrastructure challenges and AI integration. The combined platform positions the organization to serve larger enterprise customers while maintaining the agility and personal service that has driven both companies' growth through client referrals.
